**Speaker 1 (Paul):** They don't have vocal cords. They have Four four talons, four fingers. But that's not what we're here about today.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Um, our parrots prove it.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** They're aliens.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** So,

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Hi, everyone. I'm Michelle and I'm already off track. Um, by the way, we're here to talk about something different that most people don't really have really delved into. We're going to delve into it a little bit. Hey, talking about delving, if any of you guys really want a deep dive on something, let us know and we'll probably do a deep dive on it.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Okay.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Okay. Today, as you can tell from the title of this episode, unleashing the hell hounds, the truth about paranormal black dogs, should give you a hint that we're t not talking about little puppy dogs. No, we're diving deep into the absolute terror that is the black dog phenomenon. Also known as devil dogs, demon dogs are hell hounds.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** I haven't seen devil dogs in a long time. They have that nice creamy filling, but the cake was so dry, crunchy on the outside. And these ones have fangs. Great huge canine type fangs like the killer bunny.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** And Michelle, I'm just going to say it right out the out of the gate. I think that these these hellhound reports are 100% real.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** You know, I think you're right. I mean, the sheer volume of people over the decades, over the ries who've had that had experience with them who've actually had actual verified um you know experiences.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Multiple people who've had experience. We're not talking about like some some stray Labrador like our dog River didn't just happen to walk around and go, 'Hey, I'm a hell dog.'
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** And notice that every time we record, he is howling in the background. But now when it's his turn, no nothing. He's completely silent.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** You know these on some like, you know, calf, 90 lb willful little bastard. Anyway, you know, this isn't Lassie trying to dig Timmy out of a well again.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** No. No. But before we jump into historical examples, I just want to touch on a few themes about this subject that seem to be constant throughout almost all accounts through history.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah, they have a theme, don't they?
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yes, there is underworld. There are underworld guardians. Ancient myth ologies commonly cast formidable canines as the final keepers of the afterlife. In Greek and Roman myth, the multi-headed Cberus guards the gates of Hades to keep the living out.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Hades, dead in Hades.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** I'm from Canada. We say Hes. Don't tell her. Don't tell her.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Hades to keep the living out and the dead in. This parallels Norse mythologies for hound. Oh god. Gmer. We've got all these words that I have no idea how to pronounce in this in this episode. Gmer. G A R M R. Who guards heal. And Egypt's K9 headed guide. Anubis.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Anabus.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** They usually are omens of death. At least that's the that's sort of the reputation they got.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. In the British Isles sightings of giant spectral black dogs with glowing red eyes like black shook. He that's like a Scottish version. And um I can't even say these names because I can't
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** I would say barist.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Vargas and what's this one? Gartish.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** No. Guy trash. That's too tempting right there.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Guy. Well, I didn't say I didn't want to say guy trash because I didn't want to sound like, you know,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** I didn't want to sound like I was a feminist. Yeah, exactly. Um,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** racial under and overtones toward men.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. They historically served as terrifying omens of death.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Death. Oh, let's go to the recorded historical accounts because this isn't just an internet creepy pasta deal. Let's talk about August 4th, 1577, my love.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Ooh. Yeah. Is that the one with um what's that? Bertha Burough or something like that.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Blissburg. Blissburg. in in Burgundy at the Burgundy Church, right?

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Did you know that when Ben Gay was released out there, they had I was told that they were going to change the name cuz too many people just walked into the into the place of land.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Ben Gay's got nothing on Ben here. I'm sorry. Anyway, come on. This was a terrifying thing that happened.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yes, it was.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Straighten up, Paul. Straighten up.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Anyway,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** what am I picturing?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Okay, you're going to picture this. All right. There was a church, a mass going on at the church was like this and people were there and they were all scared because they all came in there to have a mass and this massive prayer thing because there was this huge scary thunderstorm going on like a once in a century type thunderstorm. Right.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Right.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** And these people were all there huddled together worshiping in this church saying prayers asking God to stop the storm and to save them all.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Right.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** When suddenly there was this like intense blackness in the sky. It just like no more lightning for a minute. Everything was black. No clouds, no nothing.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** And the doors of the church burst open like pow. like you'd see in a in a movie.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Awesome.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Okay. Yeah. And this massive massive black dog, red eyes, growling teeth, you know, he comes right out of the black and burst right through the the aisle. Runs right down the aisle.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah, that's bizarre. That is so horribly bizarre. I was trying to think of something witty to say, but there's absolutely nothing witty I can think of about that's just terrible.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Started to attack and it started to maul people.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Oh, really? Oh, god.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** And it mauled them to death?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** No, it mauled them into a new outfit.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Right there in the pews.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Another person shriveled up and died from the heat radiating off of it.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. It was like,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** is this for real? Is this Oh my god.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. That's what they That's what they they were like people who wrote down what happened.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Oh, and look. And here's the kicker for all the skeptics out there. As it ran out. It left scorch claw marks on the north door of the church. Marks you can still go see today.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. They never changed the doors after that. And you know what else is

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Hey, Paul, did you know that that wasn't the only time that day this dog showed up? at a church.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** I didn't know that.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Just a few miles away at Bang. The creature showed up at another church. Um it ran in there and somehow it seemed to choke two more people. It caused another church. In that one though, the church tower collapsed. I don't know if the first one had a big church tower,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** but the second one, the church tower just collapsed. You can't, you know, you can't tell me this. is the thing a normal like stray dog on the street would do. It runs in
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** or even a ghost or something. This is this is something that is truly elementally demonic or something.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. It's like a supernatural force.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** And I, you know, not to point out the obvious, right? But evil creatures are not supposed to be able to go into churches.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Likewise,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** like vampires or demons or whatever. And this creature was powerful enough
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** that it had no problems going into a church.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. sacred ground and this thing just went in and started. Wow. You know.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. So, do you think these things can use thunderstorms or weather events to cross over from whatever dimension or or or whatever it is they live in or did they overcome other energies such as blessed buildings and they aren't just a British thing. They're they're everywhere. Think about the CDO in Central America.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. That CDO thing is really creepy.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Oh, Cado. Just so because you know we don't speak this is hard to for us to pronounce. ounced properly in Spanish. It's c a d e j o which
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** kadejo
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** kadejo something like that. Kadejo I couldn't quite get the
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** people have to forgive us. We're from New England and from Toronto. We're lucky we can talk to each other.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Though I talk to people from every country when I lived in Toronto.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Anyway, this Kado um
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** just say it'll be easier.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Kado I sound like Freddy Mercury now. Deo. Cadeo. Anyway, the CDO is a fascinating creature because um there were times where whole hierarchies of these things, these creatures had like leaders and and it was almost like a whole army of them.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** That's weird. That's genuinely weird.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Yeah. It was like that.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** It presumes consciousness.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Well, not just consciousness, but it presumes a certain intelligence. I mean, you know, cockroaches supposedly have consciousness. Do wolfpacks have uh hierarchical orders and different jobs that they have within a wolf pack?
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** I suppose so.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Anyway, travelers uh um report seeing them and being stalked by these woolly redeyed black cados.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Mhm.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** And um sometimes while they're hunting down people, these white woolly cados come out and they fight each other while they protect the travelers.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** I would think it would be furry rather than woolly. Do you think that would be a better description? Yeah, cuz it sounds like
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** eventually it sounds like it could be a haggus that's on on on crack or something.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Haggus, did you know haggus are from and haggus don't hang out in uh Mexico?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** No, he are from Scotland.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah, but the elandus is from Scotland. One set of legs is shorter so it can run evenly around the hillsides.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah, but cad Cadeos are in Mexico.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Mexico. Yes.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Okay.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Oh, so furry and woolly. Okay.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Anyway,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** I still go with furry.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Okay.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Because it's hair.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Oh boy.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Anyway, um they fight off the black one so that the travelers can go.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** So the white animal came out to fight off the black animal.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Or protect the person from the black animal, right?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Or both,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** right? Which is an interesting report people sometimes give. I suppose the ones that don't give that report are probably the ones that got eaten by the black ones. So there's nobody to give that report.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Ah, okay. Imagine walking down a dark road in Mexico and suddenly you're in the middle of a supernatural glowing eyed dog fight. I'd lose my mind. Okay,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** you would.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Or I'd have to take pictures and then lose my mind. One or the other.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** But this isn't just all stories. I mean, this whole idea about this demon dog or this hellhound, I mean, these things didn't end back in the 15th century or something. You know,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** people are encountering these things even to today and not just in dusty old castles like you know in some old castle somewhere. This is happening now even on highways right now. You think about I mean truck drivers in America
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** and people driving in uh what's this place called? Kuk Chase
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Kenock Kenock Chase England just reported something about this.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Oh the the highway stories are are what really convinced me. There's a universal pattern to these in reports drivers will be on a desolate county road in in the middle of the night and then suddenly their headlights start flickering and then standing right in the middle of the road is this massive unblinking black hound big nasty looking definitely not a bear snarling sharp white canine teeth with glowing red eyes

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** you know I have to point out these they these um accounts usually say desolate but then when they tell you what road it was I mean we can't let all the roads. Usually, it's not desolate in what the uh what they're they're what how do I say it? They're misinterpreting the word desolate because desolate implies that it's like an old country road down the roads. What they mean is
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** remote.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Remote or not even remote because it some of these are major highways. It's just that these people are driving out there so late at night there's not a lot of cars. It's not well traveled at that point.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** So, it's not desolate. It's not like almost abandoned. It's um it's, you know, it's not it's desolate as in there's the truck could be on a major highway,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** right,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** in a major town. It's just that there's nobody else on the road with them,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** right?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** So, that almost gives the wrong impression. But anyway, what do these drivers do when they're in this?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** I would think they'd slam on their brakes.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah, you would think so. And most of them do. Slam on their brakes before it's too late. And then they brace for impact. I would I'd be like and nothing happens. No thud.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** You could see a long like a long haul trucker. You see something that size and you're thinking moose. And moose can cause

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. They slap your they they crash into the windshield. Of course it's not the color of a moose.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Or a caribou or something. Hey, you know what the difference between a caribou and a reindeer is?
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** A fence.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** That's right.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** No animal will dash off the road. Nothing hits their windshield. Some uh some will keep going. Some are like, 'Holy crap, I must have fallen asleep.' You know, you know, whatever. And they keep going.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Some of them get out and look around cuz they didn't see anything jump off into the road. They they they're like flabbergasted, you know, especially since a lot of them their truck lights flickered before they saw this.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Right. So anyway, the witnesses always describe the exact same thing. Uh the sound of silence. They say that even when the hellhound hellhound it it when it happens to be standing next to their home or staring into a window with excuse me with burning red eyes. There is no sound. There's no pause on the ground when it moves. There's no panting, no breathing. It's like it's standing in a vacuum created by its own presence.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. It's a phantom. It's like um it's like it's its own omen in British fork folklore. See,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** huh? You made it 10 paragraphs and then your mouth blew up.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** I still beat you. You did it on the previous one. Go ahead. Sorry.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** In British folklore, seeing a black this black hellhound dog means that death in the family is coming.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** It's like they were guardians of the crossroads. Like they are
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** like they are the omen of death. You know, standing at a boundary between life and death. As a matter of fact, sometimes when people saw them,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** they actually would start preparing for a funeral. You know what I mean?
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** At least emotionally.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. You know, Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** And if you saw one, you are looking directly into a gate of the afterlife. Some people actually felt that it was their own death that was coming.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** But but the people who saw them while they were driving on the road didn't always have a death in their family afterwards.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Right. So, I could see the skeptics loving to say it's just an optical illusion, a low light environment distorting a regular dog and an animal's eye an animal's eye. shine reflecting red from the light.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. Oh, by the way, we know this uh because we do have blue-eyed dogs. And in the past, we bred a breed of dogs with blue eyes that sometimes had blue and brown eye, you know, heterocchromia.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Um, by the way, the only way a dog's eyes shine red at night is if their eyes are blue.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Blue.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Mhm. And that's how we would test if our puppies were going to have blue eyes. Um, I don't know if you know this, but if you if any animal has has brown eyes, black eyes, even people. If you have brown eyes, black eyes, or any other color, those eyes will shine green. Well, not people.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** So, when people shine light in my eyes because they're blue, they see red glowing eyes. I had no idea.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Well, no, it has to do with that's camera flash that gives everybody a superpower.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** No, no, that has to do with camera flash.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** It's different in people, but animals, right?
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** If you shine a light in an animal like headlights or whatever,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** they're will reflect green unless they have blue eyes. Okay. So, when these people were shining, when these car lights were shining at these animals
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Mhm.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** and their eyes reflected back red, it means that they were either red or they had blue eyes.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Or they had blue eyes. Yeah.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** And nobody has ever reported seeing one of these animals in the daytime with blue eyes. They've only seen them with red eyes. in the daytime. So, we know that they're redeyed.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Mhm.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Anyway, so um so we have these truck drivers.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yep. And when you have truck drivers, hikers, and 16th century priests all describing exactly the same physical traits, the same silent movements, the same glowing, unblinking, unblinking, too. Red eyes,

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** the same silent movements. the same, you know, that same uh feeling,
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** right,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** for hundreds, if not a thousand or more years. That's not a longstanding delusion. That's a hellhound, a real hellhound, an ancient creature that's watching us, watching mankind.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** I'm going to try to keep the double dog ones off only because um those usually involve little chocolate cakes from Hostess.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** That is a great Always keep a a box of dog treats in your vehicle or backpack just in case you run into one of these things. Oh, that's a good idea. I didn't think of that. But then if a if it comes at you, you could throw some milk bones.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Uhhuh.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** It likes bones.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Okay, Michelle, we have one more story for our listeners today.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** I got to pick up my papers.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** You threw your script on the boom. They fell. They just went totally in.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** You lost your point. So here, let me help you.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** One of four.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** We're going to start over. with the second part. Now that Michelle, we've recovered Michelle's script that just flew all over the floor and she had nothing. So Michelle, today we have one more story for you. It came by way of a subscriber submission.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. And we love him. We love all our subscri We have the best subscribers.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** We have the best people. It's not about a devil dog, but it is about a crypted.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** So I felt like it was a good fit to finish this episode of the of the podcast. Sounds great, too.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** You know, it's a family story. It's great. You can tell your kids. You can tell your friends. I I think it's a it's a wonderful family story.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. As long as your boss is cool, you can tell him, too.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Well, I'm sure people will, you know,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** be able to figure that part out on their own.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** So, why don't we get started?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Okay. Our spooky Coop friend said he and his girlfriend Sarah were going camping in up to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. That's supposed to be beautiful up there.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. Oh, yeah. Heck yes. They hiked a lesser used trail and they they chose it because it was difficult and only the experienced hikers would take it. They knew from past experience that harder trails were more pristine and usually had better lookout points. He said it was a beautiful hike. The weather was good. Cool enough that they made good time to the first place they planned to camp.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. I'd love to to be able to go up a hard trail. like that. But, you know, if it doesn't have a bus, you know, I'm not
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** 25 years ago. I love to go up. Yeah. Anyway, go ahead.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Anyway, he went on to tell us that uh they made such good time. You know what? My microphone is way the heck over there. I probably sound like I'm talking in a soup can.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yes. Do you want to start again?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** No, that's all right.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** If anyone thought I was in a soup can, maybe I was.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Tell no one. Tell no one.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Tell no one.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** He went on to tell us that they made such good time that even though it was at least an hour maybe almost two hours before um the dark before it got dark he said before the dark I was writing you know writing this down
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** dusk I believe would be a term to describe that. Yeah. Go ahead.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Um they still s stop since they knew that the next stop that they wanted to stop at it would be way after dark before they got there.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** So needless to say they set up their little camp on the just off the trail edge and he mentioned that they camped with something. Oh, this was funny. He said that they had a bivvie sack that they had bivby sacks. I thought, I wonder what kind of medication you take to get rid of that.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** But but I ended up having to look it up on the on the web.

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** You did?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah, I did. And what I found out were those were like um those were like these super cool sleeping bags that had this little tent attached to the top of it. So like even though you were sleeping in the sleeping bag, you had like a head tent over you, right?
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** And um I just want to tell everyone this this adds absolutely nothing to the story,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** but since I had to look it up,
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** here comes the hook.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Since I had to look it up, and learn about it. All you guys now have had to learn about it. And I have decided to dub this section and um this section of our story is now going to be called Spooky Coop. Uh push it uh little stoopy stupid and I swear to God I'm not drinking. Spooky Coop. Pass it forward. If I have to learn useless information, so do you.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Anyway, so anyway, they weren't ready for bed yet. So they ate and talked and went off the trail where they hunted for some berries. They they were knew were safe and good to eat. Uh later when the sun was going down and the sky was turning orange, he said they saw a boy who couldn't be more than seven or eight years old standing about 6 or seven yards outside their camp area just on the edge of some trees. Uh his girlfriend Sarah saw him first. She pointed to the kid and said, um I said, 'Look over there.' She was really confused. Um they both called out to him, but he didn't answer. Um Sarah shouted asking him his name and um where were his parents? He still didn't say a thing. She didn't he didn't move. Um you know our wonderful Coop guy. I I I call him the Coop guy. He was great. You should have seen the whole letter. Um he had a great sense of humor by the way. Um he's just he stood there wondering how a little kid could have made it up that difficult trail cuz as far as he knew that was the only trail to get where they were, you know.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** So Sarah said to him she was sure the kid was lost and asked and she asked our our listener, her boyfriend here, to go help the little boy find his home camp. But he was thinking instead that they should bring the boy, you know, invite him into the camp and then in the next morning head down to the ranger station.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. Bring him to where he
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** both prudent and safe. Hiking in the forest is is very difficult at night.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. And if his mother if his mother or father, whoever he was camping with, couldn't find him, they'd call the rangers. The rangers would say, 'We have them down here.'
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Exactly. Yeah. Anyway, um then he walked towards the boy and as he got closer he saw that the boy's body stiffened like he was afraid. He said, 'Don't worry.' You know, he said, 'Don't worry.' And told him that he was just there to help. He wasn't going to hurt him.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Right.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. He was just going to take him back to his parents and asked them his name. But the kid didn't reply.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** So, as he got closer, you noticed that the the child the kid was wearing what looked to him like a fur parka and fur ski pants.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Which was perplexing. The weather was a bit chilly but not that cold. And he took another step forward and the kid looked like he was going to bolt back into the woods. So he stopped. Yeah. And he stood there speaking quietly in soothing voices, you know, in a soothing voice, telling the boy that he would help him find his parents. The boy seemed to relax a bit and didn't look like he was going to run away anymore. So he said um that he pulled out his arms like with his hands in front of him like to say um that he had no weapons, like look at me, I have no weapons. I have nothing I can hurt you with. Right?

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Then the kid copied him and did the same.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** So then he waved to the kid like you'd say hi and the kid did the same.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** So he dared to take a few more steps forward a little bit and then a little bit more, you know.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** And so when he got closer, he realized the little boy wasn't wearing a parker and fur pants. He was covered in hair, thick reddish brown hair. His face was bare, his palms were bare, but the rest of his body, every inch that our listener could see, was totally covered with hair. He said it struck him like lightning, that he was looking his words, and I quote, and I wish we hadn't, he couldn't quote himself more detailed. Uh, and we've made some adjustments for our PG rating. That's a real to effing god. Effing Bigfoot. And an Anding Bigfoot. little kid. F
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Oh my god. Take it away, Michelle.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** He said he kept slowly approaching it and it didn't run away. Then he said it was only about maybe six feet away from it when a loud horrible guttural howl came out of the woods and the child Bigfoot ran away, but not before leaving him with an experience of a lifetime. He said there was a smell of musk almost like his old golden retriever smelled like before she passed away. He said the memory of the child's face. He said it was human but not human at the same time. He said he couldn't really explain that. He couldn't clearly explain that to anyone. And that as the fading of dusk light reflected on the shake and he saw the fading of the you know that orangey dusk light

**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** was uh reflecting on the shaking bushes and And as the creature ran away and vanished into the woods and that's all he had in his memory.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. So next he he returned to Sarah, I would imagine quickly.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Uh expecting her to ridicule.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** I don't know. I would have stood there for a while.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. Expecting her to ridicule him. Uh but she believed him. He said he often hikes that trail step stopping to stopping to stay overnight at the same place hoping this little friend might see him and reach out to him again. But of course nothing yet.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Now. Wow. when I read that, you know, submission when he sent that in, right, I wished he had left a phone number. I would have loved to have called him and I was so excited to hear another story about Bigfoot in that area because um it, you know, it really drives home the the reality of the existence. You know, Paul, I suspect that there are so many people out there who see Bigfoot but never report the sighting to officials like in a in a you know, an authority like that because the fear of being ridiculed.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Fear of ridicule because there's so many reports but you but they don't come from official sources.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yeah. True. And what I find so fascinating fascinating about our wonderful followers experience is he didn't interact with just any Bigfoot. He interacted with the child who responded to his gestures.

**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah. And who knows it's uh when it's mama or that adult Bigfoot or whoever called out to him, if he hadn't run away, maybe He could have been the maybe our listener would have been the first person on record to hang out with a little Bigfoot and maybe he could have taught him like how to play soccer or something and they could have won like the World Series challenge or something.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** You know that that uh the mother calling out it's um it reminds me of of my mother when I was young. I swear I could hear her yell from half a mile away and we knew to get home.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** I know. Yeah, corn, get in here. Stop playing with your humans. They'll get your hands dirty.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Who knows? So, that, my dear, does it for us for today. What an exciting session it was today, having seen your script take a flyer across the studio to my parents while we tried to record. It
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** wasn't my fault. The hellhound got it.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** That must have been No, not your fault. No. It was never my fault.
**Speaker 2 (Michelle):** Yes. Some non-physical force just came by and whooshed through.
**Speaker 1 (Paul):** Yeah.
